Talk

April 27th, 2012 by Meg

I didn’t blog yesterday.
I was half too upset about my Court Report, but half of me just went, “Fuck. Studying doesn’t seem to help, might as well play games tonight.”

So I did. LOL. Dota 2 until 12AM at least?
It was very stress relieving.
Probably bad, but stress relieving because for the time you play, you are completely distracted.

Sigh.
The result of this latest assessment hit me particularly hard. Why?
Because I was so sure about it.
No, not just that.
Because there isn’t anything really that is so wrong about it.
Everyone else’s were just better.

The only thing I can think of to cheer me up is, “Hey, at least I didn’t fail.”

fhssjxjsnsjfdj uni is so hard.

I booked a driving lesson today for 8:30AM. Even though Friday is my day off, I like giving myself a reason to wake up early. Usually I sleep in until 11AM LOL.
This way, I find myself studying or at least doing something in the morning.

Sigh.

Somehow I get this feeling that it all fits in my “everything balances out” theory.

Hmm, well not exactly. LOL its like the accounting dual effect.
And the contract law effect that there must be sufficient consideration, but it doesn’t have to be adequate. LMAO its even like the opportunity cost thingy we learned in economics, in some cases.

BASICALLY. When I say everything balances out, I mean for one thing to benefit you, another thing will be a detriment to you. These two things don’t have to be of equal value to you.
Like say, you do well in school, but you also have a fight with your friend. Perhaps doing well at school is more important to you because it affects you in the long run, as opposed to a single fight with your friend. Or the other way around. Depends on your own values. But anyway yeah, thats my balancing theory.
I probably sound like a nut job LOL cause I actually believe it.

Anyway today is work day. Studying.

Fairy Tail Love

February 2nd, 2012 by Meg

[ Spoiler Alert ]

I am up-to-date with all 115 episodes of Fairy Tail, eagarly awaiting the next. How is it so addictive? The storyline follows the same basic narrative structure with the beginning, problem, climax and resolution but somehow they do it better. In my opinion it’s like they took the best parts of many animes or shows and weaved them in somehow. Like it has parts of FMA with the magic, pokemon with the collection of keys instead of monsters, Sailor Moon in the transformations, Cardcaptor Sakura in Cana’s magic, it has dragons which speaks for itself, elements of Harry Potter. OH and
Gaming, especially MMO’s. Haha, there’s carries and supports and all sorts. LOL. The list could go on.

It’s not my favourite anime ever but it’s definitely a good one.

I am obsessed with coupling the characters. LOL. Don’t judge me, I know they’re cartoons. Allow me to go into geek mode.

My favourites are: Loki x Lucy, Juvia x Gray and my absolute favourite…
Gajeel x Levy.

I liked Loki a LOT in that episode where we find out who he really is. He and Lucy together make me d’aww. Except apparently he has some thing with Aries. Whatever. :P

Juvia is all over Gray but the lack of attention he pays to her kind of makes me want her to succeed in winning him over, haha. She’s always watching over him although sometimes that makes her crazy. LOL. I still like her. Actually, with Gray being one of the best looking characters in the anime I guess Juvia represents his great female fanbase, hahaha. Gray is one of my favourites :D

Gajeel and Levy. Unexpected pairing but it’s so damn good. It’s like that whole typical bad guy / good girl pairing. Gajeel is also one of my favourite characters because he’s just so funny, and like Lucy we get to see his whole story in the Fairy Tail guild from the very start of him joining. Not to mention he kicks serious ass LOL. And when he was looking for his own cat was so funny hahaha. I should make that moment a gif. Anyway Levy is the intelligent one, not strong but very smart. And I like how Gajeel kind of admires her like that, but also protects her when it comes to battle. And then she kind of helps him too.

Point is.
Oh, addictions. Gotta love them.

Ramble, ramble

January 22nd, 2012 by Meg

Today is not only Chinese New Year’s Eve, but also Bryan and my 11 month anniversary.

Well, technically it isn’t an “anni”-versary seeing as it isn’t annual. But you get what I mean. Actually it’s the first month-versary we’ve had apart. :( Luckily we get to talk via the internet anyway. He’s coming home soon.

Yesterday I went and rewatched Tintin in 3D with my aunty, uncle and brother since my bro hadn’t seen it yet.

I also did my stupid Allocate+ crap for uni, why is it so confusing?  And Marketing has the most annoying timetable.   Don’t have to do marketing yet :D

Today I have a family get together at my grandparents house for Chinese New Year, which should be fun.

My brother has to read The Hunger Games for school, which I have been hearing a lot of hype about anyway. I’m going to read it- but honestly the hype it’s been getting is really annoying. I hate how people compare it to Twilight or Harry Potter. Actually I hated it when Twilight was compared to Harry Potter as well.

If I’m being totally honest, I loved Twilight when I first read it and it wasn’t the least bit popular. LOL people go all “eww” when you say you like Twilight; I’m not saying it was written well or had an amazing storyline or whatever. But I give credit where credit is due- if Meyer wrote it to make unsuspecting teenaged girls fall in love with the male characters, and consequently, make them fall in love with the series; she was highly successful. Whether or not it is a good piece of writing is another story- but it had to have something in the way she portrayed her characters or the way she described things that made it that effective to a mass audience. And so, I will not be afraid to admit that as a naive teenage girl, I fell for it, and liked it.  [EXCEPT THE MOVIES, EEEEWW]

Now I’m at a loss. I generally dislike those people that hate something just because it’s popular or mainstream. Because why does popularity make a difference? It’s still the same thing. And generally, when something becomes popular, there is a REASON for it— because it’s good. Or catchy or something.

But I also dislike it when things I originally liked become overly popular as well. And I kind of hate myself for it— for the reasons mentioned above. I can’t really explain why I don’t like it. It’s like all these people think they know more about it than you now that they just discovered it. Maybe I’m just too proud, LOL. Hypocritical much?

Anyway back to the point- Twilight may be a good or bad book in it’s own right, but why compare it to Harry Potter? They are two completely different books about different things. Just like The Hunger Games is different as well. You CAN’T fairly compare them. Ugh so frustrating.

Okay, I’m done. Now off to read the Hunger Games.
