The Face Shop – Nail Polishes

May 1st, 2012 by Meg

So as aforementioned, I purchased two nail polishes from Eco Skin, a supplier of asian (I think South Korean?) beauty products from brands such as Skin Food, Etude House, and of course, The Face Shop.

The two polishes I purchased were “2 for $10″ from their “Nail Pleasure” series. It sounds so wrong. When I got home I realised the lid looks a little wrong too. Whatevs, LOL. Actually, the packaging is quite unique and pretty. It looks like my VCD bottle designs ROFL.

Anyway, I’ve been looking for a nice glittery nail polish for a while. I bought Rimmel’s 239 Your Majesty silver polish (as seen in this post), however the fragments of glitter are miniscule- which is fine too, for a very metallic look- but I was looking for a less intense look. Something a little more opaque, more layerable.

This is what I got with the two polishes I bought.

From left: SL211, BK901

Let me begin with SL211- it is a beautiful colour. Bryan described it as “Snow Fairy”, haha. It seems to fit it well. It’s a very understated, layerable colour:

One coat will give you a hint of glitter, two will give you a slightly more intense glitter closer to that of Your Majesty, however it is much less intense. I think this could be layered above most colours.

It has this texture that feels very strange. Likeee… a gentle nail file? LOOOL.
I kind of like it, different from the usual sleek kind of texture of most polishes.

Above: 2 Layers of SL211

Now onto BK901. This is the polish I fell in love with at first sight:

If you look carefully at the picture, you’ll notice the specks in this polish reflect a rainbow-ish colour in the light. It’s SO pretty. It looks like the base is black in the bottle- however, it’s pretty translucent.

I like how the glitter is difference sizes, so I can do that andreaschoice galaxy nail thing (haha Jenn) :D

Anyway, I don’t know if you can layer it many times to get it to look black because I’ve only used it as a top coat so far, over SL211:

Overall, both are very nice but I’m loving SL211 right now for normal wear. ^__^

March of the Bees

April 30th, 2012 by Meg

I can’t remember if that was the name of the song, but I have it stuck in my head.

^ Wrote that during ILR today. Now I am at home again.
SO, I’ll be posting a few things today. This post will be about my backpack which arrived!

I was surprised when my mum told me a package arrived for me today, because I didn’t buy it THAT long ago. Also the package looked quite small- only an A3 sized envelope. I was afraid it would be smaller than my current backpack because of this.

TO my surprise (various surprises), it unfolded out to be pretty big so now I can actually fit stuff in my bag, yay. Also the straps are a lot wider so my shoulders won’t hurt anymore.

However.

ITS. NOT. THE. SAME. BAG. AS PICTURED.
LOL.

Luckily enough it is similar…kind of. Well. It’s not ugly. That’s all I care about. Heres the thing though- it was only 20 bucks. And if I wanna return it I have to pay for shipping back to Hong Kong LOL CBS. Plus the waiting time, and the fact that I might not even get a product back… well, it’s just not worth the time.

Here is how it looks:

Obviously I added my keyrings and such on it. Anyway it looks like the blue one from the previous post, except faux leather. LOL the feel of the leather is not bad. ACTUALLLYYY the feel is probably better than the one in the original picture: looks less plastic-y. I’m surprised at the quality, even the zipper is nice. The inside feels a little cheap but…well it was cheap, haha.

HOWEVER I am upset that it doesn’t have all the pockets in the picture. D: But it sort of makes up for it by providing a bigger pocket as opposed to multiple small ones so I do end up fitting in everything. I’d still prefer more pockets though D<

OH and it has a zipper! I was just talking to Calene and realised that the one I actually purchased has the same annoying magnetic button closure as my old broken bag (the button fell off -.-') A SIGN FROM ABOVE??!!! I think so! LMAO.

Tomorrow I have another post lined up about my The Face Shop nail polishes, so stay tuned :D

I like to waste time.

So yesterday eyelash glue I purchased online some time ago arrived in the mail. Practically every guru on the internet recommended “Duo” lash glue, so I figured that if I’m going to buy lash glue, it might as well be a good one.  Sorry, crap picture again because I took the photo at night.

Today I went out on a date with Bryan :) We went to Cafe Moretti and had a slice of “Cookies and Cream” cake to share, which was so yummy and fluffy I could die. And then we had a really tasty Soft-Shell crab dish.
Didn’t take photo’s because I forgot.

Anyway we ended up at a store called “Eco Skin”, which basically has products from The Face Shop. They had a 2 nailpolishes for $10 sale, so I bought BK901 and SL211 from their “Nail Pleasure” series. LOL. I’ll do a post on that later, as well as one on the lash glue when my order of falsies arrives.

So far I like them :D Time to experiment with nailllls.

I want a good mascara. I have been putting off looking and purchasing one for a while now.

Also. I’m rewatching Inu x Boku.

27 Degrees?

AHHHHhhmg what is WRONG with my site at the moment?! For the past hour and a half I have been trying to upload pictures, to no prevail. ;-;

(Later…)

So. I didn’t mention in the last post that I had some kind of allergy, causing my right eyelid to sort of swell up.
This has caused me great frustration because people either think I’m like, red from drunkenness or looking at them weirdly.
Luckily for me, my fringe sweeps to the right so I can cover it up a bit hehe ;)

ANYWAY. Needless to say there have been few photo’s taken this week. LOL today my outfit was pretty weird anyway. I’ve been trying to pull off knit-on-knit. Don’t ask me why. I don’t even know. One morning I just woke up and realised I had bought so many knit items that to NOT wear knit-on-knit would leave me with few options.

BUT I decided to finally upload the photos taken at Jasmine’s house, so I don’t feel quite so bad about dropping my photo blog promise quite yet.

However, I forgot the weather for the day (how unprofessional of me) so. Yeah :D By borrowing a few of Jasmine’s clothes, I came up with a Summery-style outfit, below. The aim of our get-together was to stud some denim, which she’ll probably feature on her blog. Anyway, various picture time :D

Retail Therapy

February 2nd, 2012 by Meg

Bryan is finally back from his overseas adventures, except he’s sick. :(

It has been a long time. Actually, it felt longer when he was away, but looking back and realising that it has been over a month… it doesn’t really feel like it has been that long at all. A month more of holidays passed? Wut?!

And what have I achieved during that time?

A whole lot of shopping and not a lot of anything else.

I just can’t seem to help myself nowadays, throughout high school I’ve been frugal. But when you have free time you realise just how much there is to buy. @__@ Everything seems useful.

Like today, I bought this eyeshadow palette I have always wanted to get ever since it came out— Urban Decays’ ever-popular ‘Naked‘ palette.

Anyway the words ‘Retail Therapy’. It sounds so dumb, but they describe the feeling perfectly. Whether it’s for getting out of the house, or taking a break from work, or hanging out with friends. There’s nothing quite like the feeling of going out and shopping or buying something. Even just window shopping has that relaxing effect.

I have become a consumer whore. LOL.

Whatever though. Everyone needs something to keep them sane. Perhaps shopping is admittedly one of the more selfish or spoilt ones, though.

I hope my palette arrives soon. Oh and I think I will begin posting those online shopping reviews here. I know, so random. Maybe I’ll just dedicate a section to it.
