Video: Hits and (no) Misses

Posted on 14-09-2014 | Tags: , , , , , , , , ,

So, as I said on the video description, I’m an idiot and forgot to talk about my ‘Misses’ for the month in the Hits & Misses video HAHAha.  One thing about filming is that you can’t even really fix any missed filming opportunities because you’ll look completely different and it wont flow prettily so yeah.  MY BAD.

Thought I’d upload it anyway since it’s still a viable Monthly Favourites video, except I didn’t realise I forgot the ‘Misses’ until I had already uploaded it so yeah LOL.  Hope you guys still like it.  I added a blooper as the intro because I had no other footage… this is what happens when you try to film in the span of the moment mum leaves to pick up the brother from school and the time they get home.

Products Mentioned:
A French Quarter for Your Thoughts – OPI
Good to Go Topcoat – Essie
Acetone-Free Nail Polish Remover – OPI
Volume 02 Mascara – Dolly Wink
Gelpresso Waterproof Eyeliner – Clio
158 Sweet Diamond Coral Beige – Ameli (See my review post)

Video: CC Cream Comparison

I finally got around to filming and editing a new video!  It’s a CC Cream Comparison: Banila Co vs. The Face Shop. Kinnnd of late since I feel like the CC Cream ‘trend’ is over, but I guess it doesn’t hurt to talk about it.

The ‘CC’ in CC Cream stands for ‘Color Control’, which basically means they evens out skin tone and provide other benefits that BB Creams don’t. When CC Creams were first introduced, they generally weren’t supposed to replace BB Creams, but were to act as a base- although these days many CC Creams claim to do it all: coverage, sun protection, whitening, etc. While Banila Co’s ‘It Radiant‘ CC Cream follows the more traditional route, The Face Shop ‘Face It‘ Aqua UV CC Cream does seem to attempt to do it all.

I compare the two CC creams in the video

Products Mentioned
The Face Shop – ‘Face It‘ Aqua UV CC Cream in #2 Natural Beige (~$AUD 30)

Banila Co – ‘It Radiant‘ CC Cream (~$AUD 38)

I purchased mine from Korea, but you can purchase them on ebay, roserose shop or on cosme-de.

Hope you guys enjoy the video!  Since the weather has warmed up a bit, I also took some photos of the products because I felt like being a bit artsy

Also, lately I’ve had a bit of a video blank :P  Let me know if you have any ideas about what videos I should do next

Video: Japanese Beauty Haul

Posted on 24-08-2014 | Tags: , , , ,

So I wasn’t actually planning on uploading this video first, but it just didn’t make sense to upload the video I just filmed ahead of this one (which I filmed months ago LOL).

In retrospect, I apologise for my awkwardness! It’s nearly impossible to find a time where I am at home alone, where no one is making noises or interrupting me so I’m speaking pretty quietly. Oh well, can’t do much about it now

Since then I’ve tried out most of the products, so I’ll go through them briefly here:

Products Mentioned
  • Dolly Wink Black Mascara – 02 Volume: Has fast become my absolute favourite mascara, and I cannot say any more good things about it. It holds a curl perfectly and the brush is fantastic for my wimpy asian lashes.

  • Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner – Interestingly, having tried Clio’s Kill Black & K-Palettes 24hr Tattoo liquid liners as well, I noticed some difference between them. The Dolly Wink eyeliner has a much softer brush than the other two, and I find this makes it more difficult to control. But the formula is great, probably beating both the Clio and the K-Palette because it’s darker and doesn’t crack at all (although the other two hardly crack either tbh).

  • Dolly Wink False Eyelashes: Softest falsies I have ever tried.

Hope you enjoyed the video! Next week I’ll be posting a CC Cream Comparison video. As always, if you have any suggestions for videos let me know and I’ll take them into consideration

Video: Hair Care Faves

Posted on 02-12-2013 | Tags: , , , , ,

It’s been a while since I posted… ages actually.  I decided to take a break from pretty much everything after exams finished but I’m back now :)  The weather is nice, yay!  It was always quite a pain to film on cold days because I couldn’t even get myself out of bed LOL.

Anyway my latest video is about my Hair Care routine/favourites & how I keep the ends of my bleached hair healthy!

Korea post soon, LOL. Yeah, I’m still doing those… hahaha.

Video: Winter to Spring Lookbook

(Sorry for this belated post!)

I totally freaked out when I made this.  Technology not working frustrates me on a different level… ’cause it seems you’re completely helpless when it doesn’t go your way.

I had 1000 issues with Final Cut Pro not exporting the video, so I had to record it with Camtasia which is why it is so low quality.  :(  I’m just glad that I could save the video though, tbh.

It has been a long time since I last uploaded a video and I wasn’t completely satisfied with this but I think it’s still better than nothing.  I forgot to put up a blog post about it so here it is!

I’m on a short break from weekly uploads until exams are over, but thank you all so much for your patience.  I never imagined I would reach 150 subscribers so quickly.  New videos will be made soon, especially with the weather improving
