Video: Japanese Beauty Haul

Posted on 24-08-2014 | Tags: , , , ,

So I wasn’t actually planning on uploading this video first, but it just didn’t make sense to upload the video I just filmed ahead of this one (which I filmed months ago LOL).

In retrospect, I apologise for my awkwardness! It’s nearly impossible to find a time where I am at home alone, where no one is making noises or interrupting me so I’m speaking pretty quietly. Oh well, can’t do much about it now

Since then I’ve tried out most of the products, so I’ll go through them briefly here:

Products Mentioned
  • Dolly Wink Black Mascara – 02 Volume: Has fast become my absolute favourite mascara, and I cannot say any more good things about it. It holds a curl perfectly and the brush is fantastic for my wimpy asian lashes.

  • Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner – Interestingly, having tried Clio’s Kill Black & K-Palettes 24hr Tattoo liquid liners as well, I noticed some difference between them. The Dolly Wink eyeliner has a much softer brush than the other two, and I find this makes it more difficult to control. But the formula is great, probably beating both the Clio and the K-Palette because it’s darker and doesn’t crack at all (although the other two hardly crack either tbh).

  • Dolly Wink False Eyelashes: Softest falsies I have ever tried.

Hope you enjoyed the video! Next week I’ll be posting a CC Cream Comparison video. As always, if you have any suggestions for videos let me know and I’ll take them into consideration

Illutorial: Natural Bottom Falsies

When you have practically non-existent bottom lashes, it can be hard to get a balanced eye look. I decided to try out some falsies for my bottom lash line, for whatever special occasion. I purchased these cheapo false bottom lashes from Ebay a while back:

I got this pack of 10 for only a couple of dollars (MUCH cheaper than normal – but they aren’t as feathery as the more expensive brands). They looked good on the model, but when they arrived I found that they looked way too unnatural for my tastes.

For a nearly a year I’ve just had them lying around in my draw, going to waste but recently I discovered a way to turn them into wearable, more natural looking lashes!

So instead of the usual step by step worded tutorials/reviews I’m trying out something a little different: introducing Illutorials! Basically, they’re my own little spin on those picture tutorial things you often see in Asian beauty magazines, but I decided to shorten the name to ~Illutorial~ (Illustrated Tutorial). Hope you guys like it (sorry I’m so vain HAHAHa)

Disclaimer: even though it probably looks really photoshopped, it’s mostly my camera settings & good lighting. LOL. Credits to joannastar for the Bokeh stock!
